Hi, folks – Well, you should all know by now that Hurricane Dean passed up on making landfall in Texas. It was close for awhile. Dennis and I started the process of 'heading out of Dodge'. We did not need to leave, but we learned some things in the process. Mainly the things we need to pack and move out of the way are too many and not collected as needed. We will do better if another hurricane would take aim at the Coastal Bend of Texas.

I will keep the map posted below - just in case. In the opposite from the movie - "If you plan for it, it will not come".

The map below shows how to tell where we are from the local and national TV and newspaper weather reports. If you notice in the curve there are five bays shown. We are at the southern end of the third or middle bay. The names from the south are Baffin, Corpus Christi, Aransas/Copano, San Antonio, and Matagorda. Reporters often mention Freeport and Brownsville so I marked them. As the crow flies, each about 130 miles north and south of us.
